My Profile ![]()
Hi .. I’m Brian and I’d like to warmly welcome you
to my web-site and Introduce you to my new book.....

I was born in Coventry at the heart of the West Midlands, before settling down in Southend on Sea, Essex.
Before finding my niche in Psychological and Sociological research, I spent many years as a research & design engineer for a midlands firm and worked in Michigan US and Essex UK as Production and Research manager for a US engineering company.
Trained in psychological and sociological research methodology, I have developed my own eclectic therapy based on Taoist meditative techniques and modern day psychology and social science.
About me
Bless, the ultimate question….. I guess I’m a philosophical animal, trained at UNL and The Imperial School of Medicine, in Psychology and Sociology (research techniques), I have to say I’m first and foremost “The Sociologist”. I have worked at Runwell Hospital and The Southend on Sea, Youth Drugs Action Team. The majority of my work in Drugs and Alcohol research.
However I’m a sociologist first, I always look at the social before the psychological and If I could choose the Perfect job it would be as an anthropologist / archeologist, unfortunately there is not much call for this line of work, lol.
I’ve come a long way from the young midlands boy coming from a large affluent working class family. I always believed I would be a photographer as a young lad. I had an amazing interest in cameras and taking photographs. However, my life led me in a different direction, and I found a trade in the toolroom at a local engineering company and soon discovered that I had a gift for research and design.
I just loved this new concept and it enveloped my life from the first moment I discovered it. Research just fascinated me.
My thoughts and feelings, my life experience and education that has brought me to be who I am today, right now, would be best understood by reading the book, that I wrote for my daughter, Wil – (TTHL) “How to Really be Free”.
Today I am happy and contented with my life and who I am, I have a fantastic daughter and good friends. I’m Agony Aunt to many and have even worked with friends to help them with smoking, weight and many other problems.
Activities
Mwa ha ha, Yes, lots of activities, jogging, riding, swimming and Rugby,
lol... (bless....., Not).
Actually all jesting aside, I have lost a lot of weight recently and go down the gym at least 4 times a week and sometimes I have been known to go down and do cardio in the morning and weights in the evening. Our natural body clock burns cals in the morning and builds muscle in the evening, so its cool to take advantage of that.
I still I spend a lot of time chatting with friends, drinking tea and being on my computer in the evening.
The gym is becoming my new home from home, people are busy working upstairs in the gym and then go downstairs to shower and use the spa, steam and sauna. People like to talk here, its no coincidence that the Roman’s used the bath houses to conduct business, I would say more business gets done in the steam room than on the golf course.
Summer will be here soon, so I could take up inline skating you get a lot of people doing that on the seafront these days, and it is a little more practical than skate boarding for a dood my age, and less boring than bicycle riding, bless as cool as I am.
Interests
Interests, that's funny aren't activities and interests linked, after all, we're not going to do things we not interested in. Well except for cooking, cleaning, and shopping etcetera I suppose.
However cooking does interest me, I enjoy me old cooking especially in the summer, just let me grab what's in the fridge and in the cupboards, to jolly up an interesting meal, then just add some wine and a few friends and that makes a pretty interesting experience, and physically active, socially inter-active and even proactive too. (lot's of actives).lol....
Can't think of many passive interests except maybe books and films but that comes up later, they have their own section in the profile.
On a professional level obviously I am interested in Sociology and Psychology, but I'll always belong to the social camp (nurture rather than nature - even though they both create synthesis), looking on from a social environment perspective. My favourite classic would have to be, the good old Neo-Marxist perspective, with Antonio Gramsci and the concept of hegemoney, and out of many philosophies I would have to say the most interesting for me is the Taoist philosophy from Ancient China. (lol...an interesting eclectic synthesis of east and west, past and present, that so funny - it just goes to show the power of social belief in continuity and change).
lol..my fav sport would be the WRC, I'd love to drive an off road rally car, love the rally games on the playstation and usually win.
Favourite Music
I love my music, I have my 160 gig classic Ipod so i have my music always with me. I have so much music on my Ipod that I have not been able to listen to it all, it could run for 365 days and never repeat.
My pet hate (lol) is people who sit in my car and hum along or screech to my music, ha ha, I spent a lot of money for a great sound in my car, so please don't ruin a great song if your tone deaf lol, that my job.
Just like people I love all diff'nt facets and genres of music, you could just as easily find me listening to a classic violin as you could a country fiddle.
I play mostly soul in my car, but I listen to reggae, rock and ska, you'll even find me playing heavy metal, death metal and any type of metal. I'll bop along to rock 'n' roll, swing and blues, lol I even let people play r&b in my car.
The sexiest dance in the world has got to be salsa, lol, especially after a few drinks, and my favourite kareoke has to be Sweet Caraline by Neil Diamond.
My fav song that I keep listening to at the moment is Traveling soldier by the Dixie Chicks, the video is on this web page if you want to listen to it. LoL I also strangely like my milkshake is better than yours and probably my favourite video would be My Humps by the black eyed peas, lol, my daughter would cringe.
Wil and I both like Music and we went to see Ozzy a few months back at Wembley, I seen him three times now as Black Sabbath and as himself.
